About CJX MTB Racks
How a broke college student, a friend with metal fabrication experience, and a view of the Santa Cruz Mountains turned one rack into a product line.
The Story Behind CJX
CJX started with a broke college student who needed a mountain bike rack but didn't want to spend as much on a rack as she'd spent on her car.
A friend with years of metal fabrication experience offered to design and build one.
What started as a solution for one person turned into something more. After building the first rack and working through the design, we began to think we might have something worth sharing.
That's how CJX MTB Racks got started.

Where CJX racks are designed
Santa Cruz Mountains, California
CJX racks are designed in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, surrounded by some of the best mountain biking terrain in the country.
Our CAD workstation overlooks miles of forested mountains and trails. It's where ideas take shape, designs get refined, and practical solutions are developed by people who actually ride.
Great mountain bike racks don't need to be complicated or expensive. That's the thinking behind CJX.
From Design to Fabrication
The original idea was simple: build a practical mountain bike rack without making it unnecessarily complicated or expensive.
The design developed around a welded steel main frame, aluminum wheel trays, and removable second-bike attachments.
The latest CJX design adds the folding PostLock Retention System, continuing the work that began with that first rack.
CJX is developed with hands-on metal fabrication experience, not a large corporate design department.
