How the CJX Rack Works

A closer look at the PostLock Retention System, wheel trays, frame construction, anti-wobble system, and hitch configurations.

Primary Retention

CJX PostLock Retention System

The folding, telescoping PostLock arm connects to the bike's seatpost using a hinged quick-release clamp.

The telescoping assembly adjusts to the bike's position. A quick-release friction lock secures the adjustment, while a spring-engaged indexing pin provides a mechanical backup if the friction lock slips.

The PostLock arm folds down alongside the rack when not in use.

Wheel Tray & Adjustable Chock Detail

Wheel Support

Aluminum Wheel Trays

Aluminum wheel trays support the bike's wheels, while adjustable wheel chocks position the tires to accommodate different wheelbases.

The chocks help limit forward and backward wheel movement.

The wheel chocks are adjustable. The wheel trays themselves are not described as adjustable.

Finish Options

Two Tray Finishes

CJX aluminum wheel trays are available in Satin Black and Brushed Aluminum.

CJX Anti-Wobble Connection Detail

Hitch Connection

Simple Anti-Wobble System

The CJX rack incorporates an anti-wobble system at the hitch connection to help reduce movement between the rack and receiver.

The anti-wobble system helps reduce movement; it does not eliminate all movement.

Hitch Configurations

Three Hitch Height Configurations

CJX offers three hitch height configurations to accommodate different vehicle applications.

Neutral — Trucks

Zero rise or drop.

3-Inch Rise — SUVs

A 3-inch rise configuration.

6-Inch Rise — Compact Vehicles

A 6-inch rise configuration.

These are three hitch height configurations, not three different receiver opening sizes. No particular configuration is claimed to fit every truck, SUV, or compact vehicle.

Receiver Option

1.25-Inch Receiver Option

A CJX rack version is also available for vehicles equipped with a 1.25-inch hitch receiver.

The 1.25-inch receiver version is not recommended for two-bike use.

Expandable Capacity

Second-Bike Attachments

The CJX Single-Bike Rack can be expanded using either of two removable attachments.

Non-Flip-Up Second-Bike Attachment

Non-Flip-Up Second-Bike Add-On

Installs and removes in seconds, making it easy to carry two bikes when you need to and return to a single-bike setup when you don't.

Flip-Up Second-Bike Add-On

Installs and removes in seconds and flips up out of the way when you're not hauling bikes.

The flip-up attachment is a separate second-bike accessory. Do not confuse it with the folding PostLock arm.
